Grocery is awakening to digital at the shelf edge.

Digital retail is no longer confined to websites and smart phone apps, shows Duncan Potter, CMO of Pricer. The new consumer is not just digital-first, they are digital-everywhere and all the time, so their expectations need to be better met in-store as well as online.

While numbers were way down and retailer presence was dominated by smaller brands, It was obvious from day one that all the attendees were very happy to be back after a gap of two years. And who can blame them; in the interim, the market changed, so everyone was desperate for some kind of touch in to discover if what they were seeing was real or just a trick of the social media post.

The well-publicized increased adoption of e-commerce emphasizes the need for real-time data and actionable insights for the retailers. To keep pace with consumers who are shopping seamlessly across physical and digital channels, retailers need to be increasingly focused on using technology that narrows the gap between offline and online.
