Among the group's major banners that have deployed Pricer systems are Ito-Yokado, York Benimaru, Yorkmart, Seibu.

Problem

Problem

Japan is an extremely competitive, highly fragmented market with many small retail chains and no dominant retail brand.

Seven and I needed a solution allowing them to make frequent price changes, with constant promotions to attract more customers - limited time offers, `Buy 1, Get 1 Free' deals and many other daily promotions.

Implementation

Implementation

Installations are carried out via Pricer's partner in Japan, Ishida. Each store carries approximately 11 000 labels.

Shelf-talkers and other eye-catching attachments are fitted around labels to highlight specific promotions.

Solution

Solution

Technologically-advanced, Japan has been quick to take up digital price displays and has shown the highest level of acceptance for electronic shelf labelling. Customers benefit from the numerous promotions carried out daily, increasing overall sales.

Result

Result

The Japanese market is fully convinced by the efficiency of electronic shelf labelling. All stores have rolled out with Pricer Continuum labels, and Seven and I continues to update their stores with the latest DotMatrix graphic electronic shelf labels.
