Coop were seeking a solution to streamline store operations. As well as accurate pricing, the supermarket group wanted to use electronic shelf labelling to improve in-store operations.
Each price label is programmed to provide employees with up to 10 pages of information - stock levels, product and supplier information. The default display shows the sale price and standard unit price.
Coop uses a mix of Continuum and DotMatrix electronic shelf labels in stores. Graphical labels are primarily used in the fresh produce section of the store, while Continuum segment labels are used in other departments. Some stores have been entirely installed with full graphical DotMatrix labels.
Pricer has installed in more than 100 installations in Sweden, Norway and Denmark, varying between 8000 - 20000 labels (depending on the size of the supermarket).
More recently, Coop has installed full DotMatrix stores. Pricer designed a specific customized DotMatrix label.
